This is not the first time some African countries have been banned from entering Dubai. In December 2021, Emirates Airlines announced that eight African countries will not be accepted to travel through Dubai until further notice due to the spread of Covid 19.

Earlier this month, the Ethiopian government dissolved visa-on-arrival for Nigerians. The country also mandated Nigerians and citizens from 42 other African countries to produce their yellow fever vaccination cards at any of its borders.

There is however no clear reason for the lastest visa ban by the UAE.
