The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Benjamin Hundeyin has confirmed that Ifeanyi Adeleke, Son of Popular Music artiste, Davido and his fiancée, Chioma, Ifeanyi Adeleke died due to drowning in the swimming pool in his father’s Banana Island Mansion.
A lot of controversy and suspicion had arisen due to his death with fingers pointed at various individuals including popular actress, Eniola Badmus. All the domestic staff of the household had been arrested with the Nanny and Cook being detained and others released.
Hundeyin said the two suspects detained in connection with the tragic incident are still being quizzed. “The two suspects are still with us. An autopsy has been concluded…”
On whether the principal suspects will be charged in court, the police spokesman said: “I don’t want to preempt that. The investigation is still ongoing.”
Ifeanyi who had turned three on October 20, was rushed to a hospital in the Lekki area of the state, where he was confirmed dead.
Davido and his mother, Chioma were said to have been at a family function in Ibadan at the time of the incident.
