A 59-year old
Educationist in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, Mr Donatus Kumah met his
untimely death last Saturday dawn in a robbery attack at his residence at Anaji
Queen of Peace in the metropolis.

The former
Western Region Coordinator of the Integrated Community Centre for Employable
Skills (ICCES) was shot dead by armed robbers at about 3am on Saturday.

Recounting
the unfortunate incident, a stepson of the deceased, Theophilus Cromwell who
was also in the house, said he heard a loud cry from the deceased room
following a gunshot.

“While
running towards the room I saw the shadow of the assailant who was escaping
from the scene, only to meet my stepdad staggering out of his room with blood
oozing from his chest” he narrated.

“I quickly
raised an alarm and a co-tenant came to help my father into his car” he added

Unfortunately
Mr. Kuma died on the way to the hospital. Nothing was stolen from the scene,
Theophilus indicated.

DAILY GUIDE gathered
that before the attack on the house of Mr. Kumah, there were robbery attacks on
two separate houses in the same neighborhood.

According to
the first victim, 29-year-old Adelaide Parker, at about 2am, she was
awoken by a guy who pointed a gun to her head.

She said she
was warned not to shout or she would be killed. The armed robber demanded money
and other valuables.

Mrs. Parker
said the robber took away three Samsung phones and an amount GH¢400.00.

Adelaide
Parker explained there was a similar attack on them in April this year but that
was not successful.

The paper
also learnt that there was another unsuccessful attack on one of the houses in
the vicinity due to the inability of the robbers to break through the sliding
windows.

John Davis,
assemblyman for Anaji Electoral Area expressed his surprise because security
within the area had been calm although previously there had been incidents
of break-ins but not to the extent of shooting somebody.

“It is
very unfortunate but I believe it is a wake-up call for all of us as residents
to come together to strengthen our private security”, the assembly man who
is also the presiding member for Effia-Kwesimitsim Municipal, noted.

Meanwhile, the Western Regional Police Command has already commenced investigations into the robbery attacks.
