The Chief and Elders of Takoradi have debunked reports suggesting that Takoradimanhen, Osahene Katakyie Busumakura III, is dead.
A statement from the Palace said the reports were false and should be disregarded.
“The attention of the Palace of Takoradimanhen, Osahene Katakyie Busumakura lll, has been drawn to rather unfortunate news circulating on social media purporting that he has joined his ancestors.
To begin with, the Palace would like to state unequivocally that the news is FALSE and should be treated with all the contempt it so deserves,” the statement read in parts.
It added that the Chief has not ordered the closure of shops.
“Equally, having spoken to the Takoradimanhene, Osahene Katakyie Busumakura lll this morning, who is hale and hearty, he has confirmed that he has NOT ordered the closure of any shop or any other business centre as is also being circulated.”
