A 34 year old man, whose name was given as Joseph Sarpong is currently in police custody for illegally possessing narcotics.
The arrest came after the Eastern Regional Police Command had acted upon intelligence lead, tracking three young men who were in the process of loading a Kia Rhino Truck with substance suspected to be Indian hemp at Kpong near Akosombo.
The Police laid ambush and managed to arrest suspect Joseph Sarpong 34 years.
His two other accomplices However managed to escape thereby by abandoning the Kia Rhino truck with registration NO. GN 4587-15 which contained fertilizer sacks.
The contents of the 33 fertilizer sacks together sum totaled up to 2,228 slabs of dried substance suspected to be Indian hemp which were overshadowed with about 100 bags of Global Ice sachet water and covered with a Tapolyn.
