Nigerian chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey, known as Hilda Baci, has opened up in-depth about her poor relationship with her father and how he abandoned her and her siblings.

The Guinness World Record holder revealed this in a recent interview on The Tea with Tay where she claims that her father had been involved in her and her siblings’ lives.

However, things changed when a heated argument happened between him and her mother which affected their relationship.

She said, “My daddy issue is more about abandonment.”

“My dad did not abandon me from the onset. I felt like my dad was present, at least to the best of my memory. My dad tried what he could but you know when they say parents have issues, like whenever the elephant is fighting the ground suffers, and we the kids were the ground when the elephants were fighting.

“I was calling my dad during matric to ask him why he didn’t bring food on my matric and his response to me was “whose is your dad?.

“So I started telling myself, if I make it, if I have enough, if I blow well, he will come around.”
