INFORMATION REACHING DGN Online indicates that a 17-year-old form two student of Nkawkaw Senior High School has been found dead in a galamsey pit.
The incidence is reported to have happened in the Kwahu West Municipality.
The victim was identified as one Samuel Achiaw.
His lifeless body was reportedly discovered by a search team in an uncovered pit at Kyenkyenku, near Akoasi in the Birim North District of the Eastern Region on Friday morning.
Reports indicate that he fell into the pit on Thursday evening when he visited the mining site with some friends apparently to search for gold.
There were cuts on his lifeless body, with blood oozing from his mouth and ears when he retrieved.
His body has since been deposited at a morgue, pending for autopsy.
