A resurgent Tunisian side has ended Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations dream after stunning the Black Stars 4-5 in post-match penalties in their round of 16 clash played at Ismailia Stadium on Monday night, July 8.

Ferjani Sassi’s strike in the shoot-outs was the difference as the penalties settled the match that ended 1-1 after regulation time.

Richard Ofori – 6/10: Spectacular performance from the Maritzburg United goalkeeper but had no chance in the penalty shootouts.

Andy Yiadom – 5/10: – Decent performance by the right back. A few faulty passes and did not offer any threat in attack as he failed to make a cross into the box for the attackers

Baba Rahman – 5/10: A bit jittery and quite unsure of his play. Had one or two crosses right but was largely ineffective on the left flank.

John Boye – 5/10: Looks to lack a bit of pace and was in trouble in one on one situations.

Kassim Nuhu – 5.5/10: Showed leadership in defense. Kept the Tunisian attackers quite in the second half.

Afriyie Acquah – 5/10: Stared the game so well but was largely missing in the second half. Could not exert his authority in the game.

Mubarak Wakaso – 6.5/10: Tireless worker in the middle. But had lots of shots off target.

Thomas Partey – 5/10: The Atletico Madrid star has had an underwhelming Nations Cup. Largely missing in the game. Could not exert his authority in the game.

Jordan AYew – 6.5: Decent performance from the Crystal Palace striker. Offered a lot of support defensively and a bit slippery for Tunisian to handle. Missed a glorious chance late in the game to win the match for Ghana

Samuel Owusu – 5.5/10: Offered pace in attack but could not impose himself in the game despite beginning the game.

Andrew Ayew – 5.5/10: Got a goal ruled out and was involved in some midfield battle but was not at his vintage best.
