The opposition NDC is preparing to churn out more garbage on the political ambience in the country.

Misinformation and disinformation are part of the strategy of the party, something they have perfected over the years.

The excitement of the party’s mischief machinery knew no bounds when the IMF bailout issue popped up having been looking for an opportunity to equalise.

They came close to screaming “bingo we got it” when the subject was thrown out on the public space.

The circumstances which informed the resort to the IMF by the NPP government are poles apart from the NDC’s.

There was no pandemic but mismanagement of the economy at the time the NDC government decided to go for a bailout.

The economy was on its knees and it was household knowledge at the time that the  global picture was anything but gloomy and so no tangible and convincing reason could be adduced for the IMF option other than profligacy and recklessness.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s opposition to the decision, because he thought it was an avoidable recourse, was valid.

Today, though the IMF has earned a special garb and is on the lips on many who hardly comprehend the subject.  The NDC worked overnight to bastardise it as if they would have had an option were they at the helm.

Their excitement and even elation that their predecessor has had to turn to the Bretton Wood institution for a bailout just shows the level of mischief and hypocrisy of the NDC.

We have taken note of the flagship programmes being undertaken now under the NPP administration as we do the global economic drawbacks. The free SHS and others which continue to roll on in spite of the global economic challenges are further indicators of the vast disparities between the two parties.

For several weeks, the economy was shut down in response to the pandemic and the repercussions still manifesting.

Many countries, credible information has it, have resorted to the IMF so they can weather the storm of the aftermath of the pandemic and the repercussions of the Russian/Ukraine invasion.

These are two major developments of seismic dimensions which cannot be overemphasised when analysing the economic trends across the world today.  We have noticed the demonstrations over the unstable prices occasioned by energy cost among others, in even countries on the other hemisphere.

The lettered segment of the NDC leadership, know the sources of the economic challenges Ghana and the rest of the world are facing. Political expedience has overshadowed sensible thinking in the NDC and they have chosen the path of propaganda.

We shudder to think what would have befallen the country had the NDC been at the helm at a time when the world is going through such challenges.

When they organised their so-called Arise Ghana demonstration they were only at their hypocritical best.

To suggest that Ghana has turned to the IMF because of the inefficiency of the leadership of the country is a desperate search for equality where there is none anyway.

Good governance and proper management of the economy are the principal differences between the NPP and the NDC. These attributes are being clearly exuded by those at the helm.
