President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has arrived in Tamale in the Northern Region to cut sod for the construction of an interchange in Tamale.
The president was accompanied by the Vice President , Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Road minister, Amoako Atta, Defence minister , Dorminic Nitiwul, Interior minister , Ambrose Dery,Deputy Chief of staff, Abu Jinapor and other government officials.
President ,Nana Addo is expected to launch the infrastructure projects nationwide under the Master Project Support Agreement (MPSA) between the Government of Ghana and Sinohydro Corporation of China.
The Chinese government has offered to build an interchange in Tamale in the Northern Region.
Being the first of its kind in the northern part of the country, the interchange will link communities, towns and cities to the regional capital, thereby improving trade, movement of goods and persons.
The launching ceremony is taken place at the Tamale Jubilee Park in the Northern region.
A cross section of residents in the region have expressed their gratitude to the president for extending part of the national cake to the region.
