The
church said it was highly impressed with Napo’s work as MP for Manhyia South
Constituency and at the Ministry of Education, hence their decision to honour
him.

According
to the church, Manhyia South Constituency and the Ministry of Education have
experienced massive transformation under Napo’s watch so far.

“Your
performance as MP for Manhyia South can also not go unmentioned. Under your
supervision, all depleted roads within your jurisdiction have been renovated. Again,
we have testified to your phenomenal performance at the Ministry of Education
and your landmark free Senior High School (SHS) programme.” These remarks were
contained in the citation.

The
citation was signed by Pastor Akwasi Boateng of the Ashanti Central Ghana
Conference of the SDA Church.

Reading
the citation during a mammoth church service, he said Napo had also supported
both the Christian and Islamic religions in his constituency and beyond.

He
indicated that Napo had over the years sponsored some Muslims to Mecca to perform
Hajj and also paid in full “expensed trip to Israel of some Christian leaders”.

Pastor
Boateng noted that several brilliant and needy students in the Manhyia South
Constituency had been supported by the MP to climb high the academic ladder.

He
said he was not surprised at the decision of the Political Science Department
of the University of Ghana to adjudge Napo as the best performing minister in
Ghana.

Michael Karikari, who represented Napo at the ceremony, said the Manhyia South MP appreciates the church’s decision to honour him, adding “Napo needs your support to do more”.
