Colombia legend Carlos Valderrama has shocked football fans after deciding to ditch his iconic curls.
The former attacking midfielder is one of the most recognisable figures in sport, after making a name for himself throughout the 80s and 90s due to both his playing style and his colossal mop of hair upon his head.
Now Valderrama, at the age of 57, has decided it is time for a change and for the trademark barnet has been replaced by a long, straight-haired wig.
The Colombian hasn’t decided to reinvent himself however, the trick is all part of a new campaign with sports betting site Codere Colombia.
As the images began to do the rounds on social media, fans were left aghast at seeing Valderrama so differently.
A release date for the commercial, set to air on South American television, is yet to be confirmed.
Last summer, the charismatic star promised to shave his famous curly locks if his beloved Colombia brought home the 2018 World Cup.
