Former Ghana Premier League champions Wa All Stars has been renamed Legon City FC following the sale of the club.
The club after it was bought from ex-GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi by John Paintsil and his partners has been relocated to Accra and it has been renamed Legon City after the new base of the club.
The change of name has been finalised ahead of the 2019-20 Ghana Premier League which kicks off on Sunday.
Wa All Stars will open the season with a clash against Liberty Professionals at Dansoman.
The club is reportedly sold to the new owners led by former Ghana international John Painstil around USD 2.5 million.
Earlier this year, the club proposed Stallions FC but after several deliberations the owners have settled on Legon City Football Club as the new name.
It would be recalled that Wa All Stars won the Ghana Premier League in 2016.
