Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan is ready to uncover the first phase of the over $300,000 dollars astro-turf he constructed for Accra Academy one of Ghana’s most prestigious high schools.
Gyan who was recently honored with a doctorate degree for his achievements on the football field as well as charity is set to commission the pitch on Tuesday, 18th July 2017.
The Asamoah Gyan sports center consists of a playing pitch, tartan tracks, dressing rooms and floodlights.
The construction of the pitch follows a promise made by Gyan two years ago when he visited his Alma mater. The new pitch will be convenient for the school that formerly used a grass-less pitch as well as some divisional clubs in Kaneshie and its environs
Gyan started his football career at Accra Academy before he turned out to be the successful person he is now.
It’s believed that Gyan has invested more than 1-million dollars into charity.
