The decomposing body of an aged landlord, Oladepo Asaolu, was discovered by the officers of the Osun State Police Command, four days after his reported disappearance.

It was gathered that Asaolu, an indigene of Ora-Igbomina, Ifedayo Local Government Area of Osun State, was the Babaloja of the ancient town.

Its being reported that a tenant of the Landlord had sold him to kidnappers for the sum of N1,000,000

On the day of his disappearance, it was reported that Asaolu had informed his neighbours he was going to his farm and was taken from his house in Ora-Igbomina by a motorcyclist at 5am in the morning. He was later declared missing after he did not return from the trip. His decomposing body was found four days later in a bush after he was reported missing October 5th.

When contacted on the telephone, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident.

“It is true that the man’s decomposing corpse was found in the bush on Sunday. I gathered that his tenant, an indigene of Osan community, close to Ora-Igbomina, sold him to kidnappers at the rate of N1 million.

“Meanwhile, his abductors have been arrested four of them are presently at the police net.”
