Muhammad Fahim, an Uber driver in an attempt to allegedly demand sex from a 19-year old passenger locked her in his car.
The incident which happened in Chicago saw the accused Muhammad Fahim, being held on $100,000 bail on Saturday for three counts of unlawful restraint in connection with the incident.
The incident happened on July 4, 2017.
Fahim who demanded sex after the woman volunteered to pay for her ride in cash, was pulled over by the police after he was stopped for traffic violation last week.
The victim requested an Uber, but her request was somehow deleted by the Uber driver.
The woman who refused to give in to Fahim’s request was only able to escape when the vehicle slowed down in traffic and appeared to be uninjured as reported by authorities.
He only offered to release her if she agreed to his demand, Assistant State’s Attorney Mikah Soliunas said.
An Uber spokesman called the rider’s account of what happened ‘troubling’.
