Abbey Armah, a former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Awutu Senya West in the Central Region has marginally escaped a jail sentence by Awutu Breku Magistrate court for assaulting the Deputy Minister of Communications George Andah.

The incident which happened in 2016 saw the then DCE subjecting the now Deputy Minister of Communications to physical assault with the assistance of unidentified people.

The latter then lodged a complaint with the police, which resulted in the arraignment of the former before court on charges of assault and causing harm.

Abbey Armah who had earlier denied the charges made a sudden U-Turn and pleaded guilty. When the case was called for hearing on Wednesday August 9, 2017 the accused,

He was subsequently ordered to sign a bond of good behavior for two-years or in default serve custodial sentence and additionally render an unqualified apology to the victim who is the Member of Parliament for the area.
